Leo's Incredible Comeback
When 7-year-old Leo, a Yorkshire Terrier, came to Redwood Animal Hospital, he was extremely sick and in need of urgent medical care. He had become lethargic, was vomiting, refusing food, and was severely dehydrated. Diagnostic testing revealed life-threatening diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), severe pancreatitis, and dangerously abnormal kidney values.
Leo required intensive medical care, close monitoring, and a dedicated treatment plan. With insulin therapy, IV fluids, supportive care, and the unwavering commitment of his owner, Leo began making remarkable progress.
Over the following weeks, his blood sugar stabilized, his pancreatitis dramatically improved, his kidney values returned to normal, and his energy came back. Each recheck brought more good news, and Leo continued to exceed expectations.
Today, Leo is back to enjoying life with his family, and we couldn't be happier for him.
Leo's journey is a powerful reminder that early intervention, dedicated pet owners, and a compassionate veterinary team can make an incredible difference.
Thank you to Leo's family for trusting us with his care and for the love and dedication you showed throughout his recovery. We are so proud to have been part of Leo's amazing journey.
